i. Skinless Boneless Fillets
Our
fish are hand filleted and trimmed by highly skilled personnel.
Each fillet is individually inspected before it is packed ensuring
that our customers receive a consistent product.
ii. Naturally Farmed
Our fish are no different from their wild cousins.
We have not used selective breeding techniques to enhance specific
traits. We do not use chemicals nor pharmaceuticals during on-growing
to either promote growth or control disease.

Pristine Environment
We chose Lake Kariba for its exceptional water quality.
Fed from the spectacular Victoria Falls, deep in the barren Zambezi
Valley, this huge lake has neither industries nor significant populations
that could possibly cause contamination.
iv. Wholesome Product
Our fillets are free from colorants, preservatives
and flavorings. They are low in fat, high in protein and contain
Omega-3 oils.
v. Traceable
Lake Harvest itself breeds, rears, processes and
ships each and every Lake Harvest fish. We monitor and record daily
every fish through our farm from its parentage and all its stages
of growth right through to our customers.
vi. Hygienic Processing
Lake
Harvest's processing facility has been custom built to the highest
world standards. A dedicated Quality Assurance team, an in-house
laboratory and external monthly audits work hand-in-hand to guarantee
our food security. Every employee is trained in hygiene and food
safety.
vii. Freshness
Our fish are held in ideal conditions using water,
temperature and oxygen control, right up to the point where they
enter the factory. From sedating the fish before processing, to
the final product is less than two hours.

Grain Fed
Our fish feed is cereal based and contains no GMO
crops, made on site under our own supervision. It is a balanced,
almost wholly vegetarian, diet. It contains no mammalian nor avian
by-products. It contains no growth promoters nor artificial additives.
The fish-meal is included in the diet at less than 10% and is from
a sustainable fishery.
ix. Fresh and Frozen
All of our products are available as fresh and frozen.
Fresh products are precisely temperature controlled to within ½°C
and available as chilled, superchilled or safechilled according
to our customers specific requirements. Frozen products are kept
below -20°C.
x. Plate Sized
Our fillets are farmed specifically to provide an
attractive complete fillet for one serving. They are further graded
and packed to give our customers full portion control.
xi. Value Adding
We
are continually working together with our customers such that we
are positioned to exploit the great value adding potential of tilapia.
We have specific grading, packaging and ingredient addition expertise
on hand.
xii. Versatile
Our tilapia can be found in the finest haute cuisine
restaurants, as well as being perfect as a fish supper for the kids
or barbecue for friends.
xiii. Suitability
Tilapia is fundamentally a good product to fit well
into the European white fish market. It is an excellent substitute
for the traditional fish of cod, haddock, pollock, hake and herring.
