The 2019 School Rugby Season is halfway through and the Lake Harvest sponsored Bulldogs have triumphed over most of their games by being disciplined, keeping possession of the ball and completely dominating their opponents.

The Bulldogs got off to an impressive start on the second day of the Dairiboard Rugby Festival with an impetus win when they plundered the Allan Wilson’s Sables 45 – 24. They went on to dominate the Milton Elephants with a 15 – 7 win which led them to face their long-time rivals, the PE Tigers at the most anticipated match of the Dairiboard Festival.
For a good portion of the game, the Bulldogs were in control and managed to hold off the Tigers from the try-line using their much superior and experienced back-line. However, the match ended on a low note, at 22 – 17, in favor of the Tigers.

Commenting on the team’s performance after the game, Bulldog’s Clyde Musengeza said the match helped them to see where they are lacking, – “The match was ok but we need to improve on our skills especially on attack and set pieces,” said Clyde.

The Bulldogs went on to prove that they do not let teams off easy when they had their second encounter with the Tigers at the Nigel Phillip field a few weeks later. Liberty “Gasket” Sibanda’s try was a work of brilliance that had supporters applauding and energized when he managed to go past the Tigers defense to score. Kudakwashe “Uncle” Madiro’s conversion kick and Marlon Guwuriro’s 5-point try had the Bulldogs conquering the PE Tigers 17-8, allowing them to start off the 2019 Schools Rugby Season with a bang.

The Lake Harvest Sponsored Bulldogs’ outstanding performance is evident at every match and if you want to be part of the action, lets meet at Churchill’s Nigel Phillip ground this weekend as the Bulldogs clash with the Alan Wilson Sables.
