Fish Farms

LAKE HARVEST AQUACULTURE (LHA)

LHA was established in 1997 to provide fresh fillets to the European market.  Over the last 7 years, harvest volumes have climbed up to 9000T per annum, but now service the regional markets with fresh whole round, fresh and frozen gutted and fillets.  LHA is an integrated fish farm with its own hatchery collecting 2.5 million eggs per week to be hatched into fingerlings for LHA cage operations as well as sales to group companies and third parties.

Cage operations are centered on 7 sites on Lake Kariba 2 kms offshore, each site housing 20 cages collectively keeping 2 000 tons of fish biomass at any one time. The fish are fed with specialty fish feed from LHA’s own feed mill in Kariba, processed at LHA’s own processing plant, before being dispatched with our own cold chain fleet to Harare, Lusaka or Lilongwe. LHA focuses on fresh whole round for export to Zambia, fresh and frozen whole gutted fish and fillets for both the Zimbabwean and export markets.
